Maybe it will make a difference if we can put a face on the tragedies of the Palestinians... the last victims of WWII. They have paid the price for the past 61 years of what Europe did to the Jews. And they had no part in it. Yet the world turns away from the more than 10 million displaced Palestinians around the world, hoping that somehow they will go away, and we won't have to face what we have done, especially we Americans who fund Israeli brutality to the tune of 3 billion of our hard-earned tax dollars a year. And that's only the foreign aid.
Il ragazzo nel video è stato ucciso da armi da fuoco o altro mentre stava coltivando la sua terra, ed è rimasto nei campi di Gaza oltre un mese mentre la sua famiglia tentava disperatamente di raggiungerlo. Se tre miliardi di dollari l'anno sono una cifra astratta , se un morto in più o in meno, in un paese che non è il nostro, è una cosa insignificante, ascoltate il pianto di un padre quando ritrovano il corpo di suo figlio in un campo che appartiene agli agricoltori di Gaza. I soldati Israeliani gli hanno sparato e i volontari internazionali hanno cercato di dare una mano a recuperare il corpo.
E' ora che puntiamo i piedi e insistiamo affinchè neanche uno spicciolo vada in tasca ad uno stato favorevole all'Apartheid che pratica un lento genocidio, proprio davanti ai nostri occhi.
