Amira is an award-winning Israeli-Jewish journalist and the author of "Drinking the Sea at Gaza" (Henry Holt, NY, 2000) and "Tomorrow Will Be Worse" (in Italian, Fusi Orari, Rome, 2004). She is presently on leave from "Haaretz", where she reported from the Occupied Palestinian Territories from 1993 to 2007. She lived for three years in Gaza, and has been living in Ramallah since 1997.
