Israel Resembles a Failed State

One year after Israel’s Operation Cast Lead, the conditions of Palestinians in Gaza have not improved; in many respects things may seem even more dire, as hopes of a serious peace effort have been dashed. However, it would be a mistake to miss the more dynamic situation that suggests Israel’s power and impunity are not as invulnerable as they might appear. Ali Abunimah focuses on the silver lining around the cloud, not least that of the unbroken and still vibrant resistance of the Palestinian people.
