Envoi d'une flottille au printemps pour rompre le siège de Gaza

M. Bulent Yildirim, président de IHH, a déclaré « nous partons au printemps à Gaza et notre dernier port sera la liberté ; liberté pour 1,5 millions de Palestiniens auxquels on refuse le droit de reconstruire leur société. Nous n'arrêterons nos voyages que lorsqu'Israël aura levé son siège ».
Deux cargos feront partie de la flottille, l'un donné par la Fondation malaisienne Perdana et le second, un don de IHH. Les deux seront chargés de matériaux de construction, de générateurs et de matériel éducatif dont l'entrée à Gaza est interdite par Israël depuis son attaque brutale contre la population civile il y a un an. À bord des nombreux bateaux de passagers escortant les cargos, se trouveront des parlementaires du monde entier ainsi que de journalistes et des militants des droits humains connus.
Selon la présidente du mouvement Free Gaza, Huwaida Arraf, « le blocus illégal de Gaza et l'intransigeance continue d'Israël sont un pied de nez au droit international. Si nos gouvernements ne prennent pas position pour mettre fin à la persécution par Israël de la population palestinienne, la société civile mondiale le fera.

Ewa Jasiewicz est coordonatrice du mouvement Free Gaza et a été témoin des destructions qu'a subies Gaza pendant la brutale opération Plomb Durci en décembre 2008 et en janvier 2009. Ci-dessous figure une interview qu'elle a eue avec Frank Barat. Son livre : Gaza: Getto Nieujarzmione (Gaza : un ghetto indompté) sera publié en Pologne par Ksiazka i Prasa au mois de mars.

Ce printemps, le Free Gaza Movement va envoyer aux moins 6 bateaux à Gaza pour briser le blocus illégal imposé par Israël sur 1,5 million de palestiniens. Ce blocus constitue un acte de punition collective, un crime selon les critères du droit humanitaire international. La crise orchestrée et prolongée par la communauté internationale est destinée à s'aggraver alors qu'Égypte construit un mur de fer qui s'enfoncera de 30 mètres dans le sol à sa frontière avec Gaza, à Rafah, bloquant le dernier accès au ravitaillement pour les palestiniens.
L'urgence de briser le blocus croît de jour en jour, alors que les palestiniens qui vivent dans cette prison se voient refuser leurs droits élémentaires.
Notre mission inclura 2 bateaux affrétés par une ONG turque ainsi qu'un cargo acheté grâce aux dons de la population malaisienne. Ce bateau sera chargé de ciment, de systèmes de filtration d'eau et de papier (du matériel essentiel à la reconstruction et à l'éducation, interdit d'importation à Gaza par Israël).

For those of us, Palestinian, International and Israeli who are continuously outraged, we can still make our voices heard. Watch this video and see what happened around the world as supporters marched on December 31, 2009 and January 1, 2010 to demand of their governments, "Break the siege on Gaza, let them live in peace and dignity"

The famous song you hear, Va pensiero by Giuseppe Verdi was first performed in 1842 when the Northern part of Italy was under the thumb of the Austrian empire, occupied as Palestine is today. It is a song about the plight of the Jews as they are assaulted, conquered, and subsequently exiled from their homeland by the Babylonian King Nabucco (Nebuchadnezzar).
The song has become a plaintive cry for freedom for all occupied people and is dedicated to the Palestinian fight for justice, from the Occupied West Bank to besieged Gaza.
Watch for the Free Gaza announcement of a flotilla of boats going to Gaza in the spring.
