We Have Raised the Money for the Cargo Ship!!

Now we need to raise money for two passenger boats and for sailing them all to Gaza.

Thanks to the people of Malaysia, the Free Gaza movement has enough money to buy a cargo ship. We have located two possibilities, one in Egypt and one in France and, once we choose the most suitable ship, we will be busy getting it inspected, flagged and insured.This process should be completed by the beginning of 2010, and we will be ready to collect cargo. We are still planning on taking cement, PVC, glass, paper, wire and books, all banned by the Israeli blockade of Gaza.

However, we will not sail to Gaza until we have at least two more boats; passenger boats that can accommodate between 20-25 people each. On each boat, there will be high-profile people such as members of Parliament from around the world, journalists and world representatives.

We still need your help to buy and send these two boats. Remember that Israel makes money on the occupation, charging fees for every truck that goes through its checkpoints. Israeli farmers make money on the occupation. Israeli fishermen make money on the occupation. And Israeli officials make money on the occupation.

Only through the sea can Palestinians control imports of urgently needed supplies and exports of their products. Help us open a sea passage from Gaza to the world.
