Our small yet committed group has already made five successful voyages to Gaza, delivering needed human rights workers & humanitarian supplies, and helping to lessen Gaza's terrible isolation from the world. We are confident that with the universal outrage over Israel’s massacres in Gaza, we will be able to send a flotilla of ships to shatter the siege and deliver a message of international hope and solidarity to the people of Palestine.
Israeli policies of racism, ethnic cleansing and the brutal military occupation of Palestine demand determined & direct action to overcome them. When our governments fail to act, we - the citizens of the world - must stand up and make our voices heard. Article 13 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights grants all people the right to leave and return to their own country - a right that Israel summarily denies Palestinians.
We are looking for ships wishing to join the Hope Fleet and sail to Gaza in late June, and we are looking for high-profile people, including parliamentarians and celebrities, who want to join us and demand that a besieged Gaza cannot forever remain an open-air prison with no access to the world. The Free Gaza Movement will continue to challenge Israel's brutal policies. We will go to Gaza again, and again, and again, until the Israeli siege is broken and the people of Gaza have access to the rest of the world.

كجزء من حملتنا حملة صيف الأمل, حركة غزة حرة كانت قد أعدت لتسيير ثلاث رحلات بحرية إلى غزة هذا الصيف. الرحلة الأولى كانت مقررة في يونيو و الثانية في يوليو و الثالثة في أغسطس. في رحلاتنا التي كانت مقررة في يوليو و أغسطس كنا قد أعددنا لأخذ الكتب التي أرسلتموها لنا مشاركةً منكم في حملة الحق في القراءة إلى غزة. ( للإطلاع على مستجدات الحملة أنظر في الأسفل)
و لكن بسبب اعتراض إسرائيل لقاربنا ( قارب روح الإنسانية) الشهر الماضي. اضطررنا لأن نغير خططنا. لا, نحن لم نتراجع أو نستسلم. نحن نؤمن الآن و أكثر من أي وقت مضى أنه من المهم جدا أن نواصل حملاتنا تلك و أن نظهر قوة المجتمع المدني الدولي في الوقوف في وجه القسوة و انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان و الظلم. إننا لن ندع اعتداء إسرائيل الأخير على مهمتنا يوقفنا لأننا إذا ما فعلنا ذلك نكون قد استسلمنا إلى الاضطهاد الذي أرتكب بحق الشعب الفلسطيني المحتل مائة مرة. إن الأخطار التي قد نتعرض لها بسبب صعودنا على تلك القوارب لا يمكن مقارنتها بالأخطار التي لطالما واجهها الفلسطينيون و لا يزالوا يواجهونها في حياتهم اليومية.

"The interception of the ship The Spirit of Humanity"
debate called By Emily Thornberry, Labour Member of Parliament for Islington South, London. Emily is the constituency MP for Alex Harrison, one of the British passengers on board the Spirit of Humanity.
Emily introduced the debate, raising a number of questions relating to the illegality of Israel?s actions in relation to the Spirit, its passengers and crew and towards the population of the Gaza Strip.
The Minister of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs (Ivan Lewis) responds on behalf of the British Government.

On 30 June the Israeli navy boarded the Free Gaza boat Spirit of Humanity when it was approaching Palestinian waters quite opposite the Gaza Strip. The boat was towed to the Israeli port Ashdod where the 21 persons on board were arrested. It was only after almost a week had passed that they were released and deported to their respective home countries
It was the eighth attempt that the Free Gaza organization made in order to break the blockade on the Palestinian Gaza Strip, where a majority of the people are dependent on aid organizations for their survival. The borders are closed. The inhabitants cannot set off for leaving the Strip and Israel only allows in the most necessary for not dwindling away.
